राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने इंडिया टुडे डिजिटल के श्री सिबु कुमार त्रिपाठी को रामनाथ गोयनका अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया।

Sibu Kumar Tripathi is a prominent Science Editor at India Today Digital, recognized for his exceptional contributions to journalism, particularly in the fields of science, environment, and health. Recently, he was honoured with the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award for his impactful reporting on the land subsidence crisis in Joshimath, Uttarakhand. His report, titled “The Curse of Joshimath,” highlighted the urgent need for sustainable development practices in geologically sensitive areas.
A graduate of Makhanlal Chaturvedi University in Bhopal, Sibu furthered his studies at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication in Delhi and went on to complete his Masters from Kurukshetra University.
He also holds a certificate from the United Nations in critical appraisal skills for health reporting. His academic background laid a solid foundation for his career in journalism, which began with roles at various media outlets before joining India Today Group.
Sibu’s career has spanned multiple facets of journalism; he has previously covered political issues and reported on the Delhi government. His versatility as a journalist is complemented by his passion for science and space exploration, often sharing insights on these topics through his writing.
In addition to the Ramnath Goenka Award, he is a two-time recipient of the WAN-IFRA Digital Media Awards, showing his excellence in digital journalism. His work not only informs but also engages readers on critical issues affecting society and the environment.
His coverage of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, Aditya L-1 mission, Ladakh’s Dark Sky Reserve, Kodaikanal Solar Observatory, the Samudrayaan project has been repeatedly praised by the scientific community.
