6.2 Strategy Development and Deployment

6.2.1 The institutional perspective plan is effectively deployed and functioning of the institutional bodies are effective and efficient as visible from policies, administrative setup, appointment, service rules, and procedures, etc.

The institutional Perspective plan is effectively deployed

The strategies developed by the University to ensure adequate information and availability of feedback to the higher authorities. Review activities of the University encourage high involvement of the teaching and non teaching staffs in improving the effectiveness & efficiency of the Institutional processes. This includes:

  • All courses offered in University Teaching Departments (UTD) are offered on Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for holistic development of under graduate and post graduate students.
  • Semester System is implemented as per UGC regulation.
  • Continuous Evaluation and Assessment of Processes and Activities. Academic Calendar/Plan is prepared every year, according to which activities are carried out. This plan includes:
    • Orientation program for newly admitted students
    • Internal exams
    • Seminars organised by various departments
    • Practical exams
    • Semester exams
    • Cultural and sports events.

The Council and Bodies of University:

Visitor of the University:

The Vice-President of India is the Visitor of the University. The visitor shall preside over the convocations and shall have the right to visit and inspect the University and any of its activities.

General Council:

General Council has all the power necessary for the administration or management of the university or for conducting its affairs including the power to review the action of all other committees and shall exercise all powers of the university not otherwise provided in this act.

Academic Council:

Academic Council is the principal academic body of the university which has control over academic affairs, its responsible for the maintenance of standards of teaching/training, research, curriculum, evaluation, criterion, examinations and other academic functions.

Managing Committee:

The managing committee shall have power to decide matters relating to managing administrative policy to the extent they are delegated to it by the General Council.

Finance Committee: The finnance committe may examine and scrutinise the annual budget of the university and to make recommendations on financial matters to the general council. Finance may review the finances of the university from time to time and to consider re-appropriation statement and audit reports & to make recommendations to the general council.

Vice Chancellor:

The Vice-Chancellor of the University is appointed by the General Council and shall continue in office for the unexpired term of his appointment. Vice-Chancellor shall exercise all powers of the Managing Committee in the management and administration of the University, that have been delegated to him by the Managing Committee.

Rector: Rector of the University is appointed by the Chairman of the General Council after consultation with the Vice- Chancellor. Rector shall be the head of the general administration and financial administration of the University.

Heads of Departments: The departmental administration is carried out by Head of Department.

 6.2.2 Institution implements e-governance in its operations. e-governance is implemented covering the following areas of operations:

  1. Administration including complaint management
  2. Finance and Accounts
  3. Student Admission and Support
  4. Examinations
