3.6 Extension Activities:

3.6.1 Outcomes of extension activities in the neighborhood community in terms of impact and sensitizing the students to social issues and holistic development, and awards received if any during the last five years (Showcase at least four case studies to the peer team).
Response:
Extension Activities carried out by National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit National Service Scheme Unit is working in University since the year 2019. National Service Scheme (NSS) is an important unit of University actively engaged in social service through organizing extension activities. NSS unit is working in collaboration with various voluntary organizations to disseminate information and spread awareness on national issues, promotion of spirit of nationalism. Volunteers of NSS unit participated n several programs such as rallies, street plays, tree plantation, program on Banning usage of plastic bags/ polyethylene and distribution of food parcels .Volunteers of NSS unit has also participated in awareness program on rural journalism, women and child development, health, and environmental.
On January 26, 2022, an awareness street play on the topic of ‘Corona Mukt Bharat’ was performed by the Volunteers of NSS Unit in village Bishankhedi to aware about Corona Virus. On March 3, 2022, Volunteers of NSS unit has planted 70 saplings in University campus and participated in “Ankur Abhiyan”. In August 2022, a Nature Club was formed in the university through which students organize activities related to environmental awareness.
On April 12, 2022, a blood donation camp was organized in the university in collaboration with the Red Cross, On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, a program was organized on 5th August 2022 to create awareness towards the patriotism and a program was organized to tie Rakhi to the police personnel in the local police station. A seven-day special camp was organized by the students of the National Service Scheme Unit in March 2022, Special lectures series were organized on financial literacy, rural journalism, women and child development, health, environmental awareness. Volunteers of NSS unit also participated in companions of blood donation, education and awareness regarding voting. On August 15, 2022, a street play named ‘Yamraj’ was staged in the Bisankhedi campus, to aware on environment and water conservation. University is offering NSS as Generic Elective subjects in Curriculum of NEP based UG Programs.
The Extension Activities by National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit:
University is offering NCC as Generic Elective subjects in Curriculum of NEP based UG Programs. University has executed the MOU with NCC Command Office. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) celebrated its establishment day with various activities aimed at promoting community engagement and national service. The corps of NCC participated in blood donation drives, voter awareness rallies and tree plantation activities.
Furthermore, NCC cadets engaged in sports and adventure activities like trekking camps and shooting competitions, awareness companions of Central Government initiatives such as National Education Policy 2020, patriotism through campaigns like “Har Ghar Tiranga, ghar ghar Tiranga” (“हर घर तिरंगा, घर घर तिरंगा”) and “Clean India” (“स्वच्छ भारत” ) promoting national symbols and cleanliness awareness.
