MCU to launch community and internet radio in new Campus
B.Sc. (Graphic and Animation) course to be revived, seats increased in M. Sc. (New Media)
Bhopal, 18 September, 2020: The Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal will soon establish a community radio at its upcoming new campus at Bishankhedi in Bhopal. New Vice Chancellor Prof KG Suresh announced here today.
Addressing the university leadership team, Prof Suresh said an internet radio would also be established soon along with the community radio to provide hands-on training to students and create awareness on various issues among the local community.
A committee chaired by Dr Shrikant Singh, Head of Department of Electronic Media, with Dr Shreedhar Rammurthy, who established India’s first community radio ‘Radio Anna’ as honorary advisor, has been set up for the purpose. The other members of the panel are Shri Ramesh Hangloo (Head of Radio Sharda), Shri Ashish Joshi (Director, Production, MCU).
Prof Suresh said, it has been decided to revive the popular course B. Sc. (Graphic and Animation) from this academic session itself. Similarly, number of seats in M. Sc. (New Media) has been increased. Prof Suresh took a review of activities of different departments.
