4.4 Maintenance of Campus Infrastructure

4.4.2 There are established systems and procedures for maintaining and utilizing physical and academic support facilities – laboratory, library, sports complex, computers, classrooms etc. Describe policy details of systems and procedures for maintaining and utilizing physical, academic and support facilities within a maximum of 500 words.

Response:

University has implemented a highly efficient system and process to ensure the maintenance of both physical and academic support facilities as per university maintenance policy. Details are as follows:

As per MP Government Rules, University maintains a stock register and maintenance register to ensure the proper update of maintenance of equipment. University provides all the necessary materials for cleaning and maintenance through agency. University has hygiene and gardening Committee and maintenance committee to take care. The campus maintenance is also closely monitored through the use of surveillance cameras. University has well defined procedure of maintenance for following facilities for :
a) Classrooms and other academic facilities: All academic spaces, including classrooms, staff rooms, seminar halls, and dispensary, are equipped with supporting staff responsible for maintaining and overseeing the infrastructure.

b) Civil Work Maintenance: The administrative officers, Garden/Hygiene Committee, establishment department and civil Maintenance experts collectively manage these activities.
c) Garden Maintenance: Garden/Hygiene Committee of University take care the gardens and beauty of the campus. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene and sanitation of campus. Repair of frequently damaged components like water filter, water coolers, RO, Sanitary ware, wash basin & commodes, floor tiles, furnitures, drainages, windows and door s & glasses Internal road maintenance Garden and Play grounds Water supply and water tanks cleaning, White washing and painting of campus Water leaks and false sealing and electrical repair works.

d) Water Management Systems: University maintenance cell take cares the following:

  • Pumps & motors
  • Water Purifiers, RO
  • Water Coolers
  • Geysers
  • Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)
  • Sumps
  • Overhead water tanks
  • Rain water tanks
  • Borewell tanks
  • Periodic water testing and water conservation activities are also carried out.

e) Media Labs Maintenance:

Concerned Lab In-charge ensures the proper maintenance and efficient operation of equipment and facilities.

f) Maintenance and Utilisation of computer Facilities:

University has IT- Infrastructure and Maintenance Cell to carry out the maintenance, smooth utilization of computing facilities and maintains stock register as per University IT Policy. The maintenance and upgradations are carried out by IT-Infrastructure and Maintenance Cell with outsourced agency under AMC. University has signed MOU for e-waste Management.

g) Central library:

The staff and officers of central library of university carry out procurement and stock entry of learning resource under library Management Committee as per Library Policy.

h) Sports & sports complex:

The Sport Coordinator oversees the sports facilities, workout equipment, and playing fields routinely for both indoor and outdoor activities. Maintenance of the gym and other equipment is carried out as needed, under the guidance of the Director of Physical Education.

i) Electrical Maintenance:

University has enough technical staff to maintain electrical systems.
