4.3 IT Infrastructure

4.3.1 Institution frequently updates its IT facilities and provides sufficient bandwidth for internet connection. Describe IT facilities including Wi-Fi with date and nature of updation, available internet bandwidth within a maximum of 500 words

The university provides cutting-edge IT facilities to students in order to empower them to achieve academic excellence. To facilitate this, the institution regularly upgrades its IT infrastructure throughout the campus, encompassing classrooms, laboratories, seminar halls, and the auditorium.

  • The University possesses a total of 448 high-performance computers (i7, i5, and i3) with a robust Local Area Network connection.
  • The ratio of computer students in the university stands at 1:4
  • The efficiency of peripherals such as printers, scanners, and photocopiers is maximized by linking them through the LAN/Wi-Fi network.
  •  MCUUJC is equipped with a dedicated 100 Mbps leased line internet connection from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
  • In MCNUJC, Bhopal campus, there are 42 FTTH broadband connections in constituted all departments. These connections are used as backup for leased line and their speed varies from 30 Mbps to 300 Mbps.
  • Off Campuses of MCNUJC i.e. Datia, Rewa and Khandwa campuses have 300 Mbps broadband connections of BSNL.
  • Security is of paramount importance at the university, with all computers, electronic devices, and  gadgets having secure internet connections through open source Firewalls.
  • The University boasts 71 classrooms, each furnished with to facilitate ICT- enabled teaching and learning.
  • The classrooms are also equipped with either LAN or Wi-Fi access to ensure campus-wide connectivity.
  • With over 53 WiFi access points across the campus, students and faculty are provided with login IDs and passwords for authentic internet access.
  • Additionally, there are 347 CCTV cameras on campus with one month of data storage for monitoring activities and enhancing security.
  • Both staff members and students can access the internet via their mobile phones, tablets, and laptops while on the University premises.
  • The University has a total of 10 computers in its libraries. These computers also have audio-video aids that are utilized for various online training programs, web-based learning programs, web-based workshops, and webinars.

To keep the stakeholders informed, information about upcoming events will be posted on the university website.

The policies adopted for ensuring adequate IT infrastructure and support:

  1. The University IT infrastructure and Maintenance cell conducts need assessments for replacement, upgrading, or adding to the current infrastructure upon requests from department/institution heads.
  2. Staff and students are provided with training programs to acquaint them with computer usage, peripheral devices, and software.
  3. The University IT infrastructure and Maintenance cell ensures the regular maintenance and updates of the University website.
  4. The automation of the entire University includes modules such as admission, faculty management, student management, hostel management, online payment systems, and examinations management system.
