Orientation of PROs concludes in MCU
Bhopal, 17th December, 2020: The two-day orientation of Public Relations Officers of MP Government in the second batch concluded today in Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal. In the concluding ceremony, Commissioner, Public Relations, Dr Sudam Khade said a public relations officer must use the power of social media for publicity of the government’s activities. Today, presence on social media is very essential. Journalism as well as government working has changed due to Covid 19 pandemic. During the lockdown period, the government conducted 211 hours online meetings. He welcomed the University’s endeavour in imparting evidence-based health reporting to journalists.
Presiding over the session, Vice Chancellor Prof KG Suresh said local achievements, culture, heritage and success stories of people can be shared through social media. You can enrich public relations activities by using social media and make them more effective. Videography must be used for documentation of events and happenings. This will help in preventing fake news.
Before the concluding sessions, experts of different fields including Director and Founder of GreyMatters Communication, Navneet Anand, Prof P Sasikala, former DG, Doordarshan, Smt Veena Jain, Joint Director (news) Doordarshan, Puja P Vardhan, senior journalist Shri Girish Upadhyay, Editor, Bansal News, Shri Sharad Dwivedi, Dean, Jagran Lake City University, Dr Diwakar Shukla, IT experts Shri Ankeshwar Mishra, Shri Krishan Sharma addressed technical sessions. Deputy Director Shri Pankaj Mittal and Shri Ashish Sharma presented feedback report. Dr Avinash Bajpyee proposed the vote of thanks. Assistant Professor Manisha Verma anchored the programme.
