Vice Chancellor Prof KG Suresh takes decision in favour of varsity staff, enhances loan limit for higher education, marriage of girl child of employees

Bhopal, 16 September, 2020: Newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Prof KG Suresh assumed charge today. University Registrar Prof (Dr) Avinash Bajpayee, all heads of the departments, officers and employees welcomed the new Vice Chancellor and apprised him about the university.
Vice Chancellor Prof Suresh, after assuming the charge, took the first decision in the interest of university employees. He decided to increase limit of loan for higher education and marriage of girl child of the employees. University employees have been demanding increase in the loan limit. Chairing a meeting with all heads of departments, the Vice Chancellor said that he had set the goal to make the university a leader in teaching, training, research and publication.
Prof Suresh has served as Director General of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC); Dean, School of Modern Media, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun; Senior Consulting Editor in DD News; Editorial Advisor in Asianet New Network and Chief Political Correspondent in Press Trust of India.
Born of September 26, 1968, Prof Suresh received his education from Delhi University, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan and Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar. Prof Suresh is a member of the Academic Council of Jawaharlal Nehru University; Society of Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata; Research Committee of Indian Council of Social Science Research; a member of Advisory Council of the Delhi School of Journalism, Delhi University; Academic Council of Central University, Himachal Pradesh; Member of the School Board of Abanindranath Tagore School of Creative Arts and Communication Studies, Assam university, Silchar. He is a member of the Awards Selection Committee of the National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology. He has been selected for the prestigious Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Samman for outstanding contribution to journalism this year and the award will be presented by the President of India.
